Personal safety is invaluable for women.

'Living With Confidence' is a unique DVD which gives safety awareness advice for women that can be applied to every aspect of their lives. It has been launched by Chubb Security Personnel and the Security Industry Training Organisation (SITO) as part of their 'Safety Awareness For Women' initiative.

"It's impossible for women to put a value on thier personal safety, " says Chubb Security Personnel's Jane McKenna.
"Feeling safe whilst walking down the street or taking a taxi is incredibly important for us to be able to live our lives confidently and independently. Through 'Living With Confidence' we have tried to provide women with simple ways to change their habits to protect themselves from crime."

Jane continues: "The DVD covers many aspects of a modern woman's life, offering advice for women in the workplace, at home, and while socialising. For example, doing a 'handbag laundry' and reducing the number of credit cards, keys and personal documents you keep in your bag is just one of the ways women can help themselves. If you're not carrying your life in your bag, you're less likely to try and hold onot it and risk being injured if someone tries to steal it."

Chief Inspector Bernie Gravett from the City of Westminster Police has also been involved in the project. He says: 'Taking a commonsense approach to the way you live your life can make all the difference as to whether you become a victim of crime. This applies equally to men and women, but there are specific instances where women can be more vunerable.'

The 'Living With Confidence' DVD is part of a wider 'Safety Awareness For Women' initiative which involves training women in personal safety. Stefan Hey, SITO's Managing Director, comments: "We are encouraging businesses to get involved and use the DVD or our training course on the subject to promote personal safety to their personal female staff. Businesses have a responsibility to their employees both inside and outside the workplace, and ensuring their personal safety shoudl be a top priority."

The 'Living With Confidence' DVD and the associated 'Safety Awareness for Women' training course are both available by contacing jackie.gregory@chubb.co.uk or by telephoning 01933 671093.
