CO2 fire extinguishers are suitable for electrical equipment, Class B fires and are recognised for its non-damaging highly effective performance and cleanliness. Chubb CO2s have non-conductive anti-static horns. Because the gas is harmless to delicate equipment and materials, it is ideal for modern office environments, all electrical risks and where oils, spirits, solvents and waxes are in use.

  • BS EN 3 Kitemark on our fire extinguishers ensures continuous product excellence.
  • High-grade brass head assembly ensures reliability and optimises efficiency.
  • Coated steel levers built to withstand the hardest knocks.
  • 56 bar working pressure at 20oC for maximum fire fighting performance.
  • 5 year product guarantee.
  • Polyester external coating adds extra protection to withstand extreme temperatures, dirty environments and UV degradation.
  • Colour coded area to establish at-a-glance contents recognition.
  • Unique tamper evident safety pin with OK indicator to reduce accidental discharge.
  • Lightweight impact extruded high-grade aluminium body shell for optimum strength and resistance.
  • Warning notice on 2 kilo horn.
  • Polyester external coating adds extra protection to withstand extreme temperatures, dirty environments and UV degradation.

Important for its non-damaging highly effective performance and cleanliness. Both models have non-conductive anti-static horns and are suitable for situations involving flammable liquids and electrical hazards.

Gas is harmless to delicate equipment and materials. Ideal for modern office environments, all electronic risks, and where oils, spirits, solvents and waxes are in use.

Fire ratings provide a means of measuring the effectiveness of an extinguisher in terms of the maximum size of fire that can be extinguished. Class B is related to fire surface area and the rating figure to the quantity of flammable liquid in a ratio of 1/3 water, 2/3 fuel that can be extinguished in a circular tray.

EC20C - Non-Magnetic CO2 FIRE EXTINGUISHER

(MRI Scanner Compatible)

This fire extinguisher has been specifically designed with non-magnetic components making it suitable for hospital MRI scanner rooms and other areas where there is a strong magnetic field.  CO2 non-magnetic has the same functions and benefits as a standard Chubb Fire CO2 fire extinguishers.

frost free horn

Despite the CO2 fire extinguisher being the UK's most commonly used fire extinguisher, previously they have been supplied with a warning against holding the horn when in use.  This is because the CO2 fire extinguisher is held as a liquid under pressure within the cylinder, and when it is discharged it expands rapidly, cooling down the material it contacts.  As such, during the discharge of a 2kg CO2 fire extinguisher, the temperature of a traditional horn drops by 40oC, giving the user a risk of frost burn if the horn is accidently touched.

To eliminate this problem, Chubb have developed a new reinforced swivel horn that combats the longstanding issue of frost building on the horn.

The horn now comes as standard on all new 2Kg CO2 fire extinguishers, and we can upgrade your older CO2 fire extinguishers during your sheduled service visit.
