Typical Applications - Mid Level CCTV

Chubb offers a comprehensive range of CCTV cameras, including bullet cameras and day/night cameras,

The effectiveness of a CCTV system can be dramatically improved with remote video monitoring.

A mid level CCTV solution would be specified for a large stand-alone site or multiple sites linked together by a communications network. The CCTV system would provide coverage of internal and external areas, with advanced telemetry controls, and would incorporate activity triggered recording and monitoring. Such a solution could apply to a large office building, a school or a small warehouse.

mid level CCTV solutions

What products would be used?

A typical mid level CCTV system could consist of a 9 channel digital video recorder (DVR), a combination of fixed and moveable internal and external cameras, a rack mounted display monitor and spot monitor with split-screen facility, a multiplexer and telemetry controls for controlling moveable cameras. All components would be hardwired together, with unscreened twisted pair (UTP) cabling for relaying images across long cable runs with minimal degradation.

How much coverage would this provide?

A mid level CCTV system would be capable of covering a range of internal and external areas, with each digital video recorder capable of accommodating around 9 cameras. Coverage would be increased with the aid of moveable cameras that can pan, tilt and zoom to focus in on a particular area. Images would be relayed to a spot monitor and to a rack-mounted control terminal where the digital video recorder would be stored securely. This solution would be suitable for large stand-alone sites and multiple sites linked together with a communications network.

What technologies would it incorporate?

All Chubb CCTV systems utilise digital technology, with a range of digital video recorders (DVR) that capture and record images. This provides quality images that do not degrade and can be quickly and easily retreived. Specialist cameras can be incorporated, such as bullet cameras, for covert applications, and day/night cameras that adapt to changing light levelsfor 24/7 surveillance. With a large integral hard drive, the digital video recorder (DVR) automatically overwrites recordings after they cease to be required, in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Recordings can be copied onto a CD using an intergal CD writer for releasing as evidence to the Police, or if someone makes a subject access request.

What happens if my requirements change in the future?

A mid level CCTV system is limited by the number of channels (or cameras) available on the digital video recorder (DVR), and by the size of the integral hard drive for storing video images. Rack mounted digital video recorders (DVR) are easy to replace when there is a need to incorporate additional cameras or greater video storage capacity is required. Different cameras can be assigned to specialist applications, such as EPOS monitoring and till scanning, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) or for video entry systems, and they can be remotely monitored for generating an effective response when required.
