Chubb opens new training facility in Sunbury

A new Training Centre has been opened at Chubb’s Head Office in Sunbury to provide customers access to training on a range of technologies and disciplines including intruder, CCTV and access control, as well as providing Chubb engineers and other employees with further coaching in sales - both technical sales and sales techniques. Chubb Electronic Security is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Ian Fixter, Training Manager, says: “Having a new training facility in Sunbury allows better integration between Training and Technical Support, and also enables those taking part to feel closer to the business. It represents a significant investment for Chubb, and signals our clear intention to be at the forefront of people development, technology and innovation.”

The new facility comprises two dedicated air-conditioned classrooms fully equipped with the latest audio-visual technology. Training for up to 100 Customers and/or employees can be provided over a typical week.

The facility is complemented by a significant investment in E-learning – a remote, PC-based training initiative that allows individuals to learn at their own pace and place, whether from home, hotel or internet café. As Ian concludes: “E-learning is proving particularly useful in informing our people via the intranet about our latest innovations, notably our Monitor AFx Integrated Security Management (ISM) technology.”
