SISYS launshes visitor express security edition

SISYS, the name behind electronic visitor management systems used throughout the military, defence and commercial environments, has launched a new version of its proven technology – the SISYS Visitor Express Security Edition – that replaces traditional sign-in books with a system that stores images, names and visit details in even the busiest environments. Chubb Electronic Security is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

The new Security Edition provides a means of processing passes for each visitor to a site, but also storing critical information and images such that the data can be searched for, displayed and reported based on varying criteria. It provides Reception staff with a means of delivering an efficient service for visitors, but is also significantly more secure than paper-based systems.

SISYS Visitor Express Security Edition has a number of bespoke features including an ability to set ‘rules’ regarding visitor classification and clearance. If a visit request does not meet these rules (for example the visitor does not have the appropriate health & safety clearance), then the request is denied or returned pending subsequent approval or amendment.

The system also enables visits (including appointments with multiple guests) to be requested and managed such that the visitors are notified and aware that their attendance has been confirmed. Maps/directions can also be attached as part of the confirmation process.

A further benefit is the ability to store profiles, thus spending less time duplicating tasks that have already been done before, and because visits can be pre-booked there are fewer hold-ups when the visitors arrive leaving staff to focus on more ‘value-added’ elements of their role. Information can be stored on a single database, and all data is easy to audit.

“The new system includes the same ease of use that the core Visitor Express module demonstrates,” says Colin Leatherbarrow, SISYS’ General Manager. “Hosts can pre-book visitors using an intranet visit notification system. A single screen ‘visitor receive’ window makes welcoming a guest as simple as typing their name or even scanning their business card.”

SISYS is a division of Chubb Electronic Security, part of UTC Fire & Security.
