Litigation Clerk

JOB TITLE: Litigation Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Legal
REPORTING TO: Legal Executive

We are currently recruiting a Litigation Clerk to work within our busy legal team

key responsibilities:

  • Working in a busy team you will be responisble for pursing cases in court using an automated system. Ensuring all allocated cases are pursued in a timely manner
  • You will be responsible for complying with strict timetables and responding to correspondence from the courts and defendants
  • Support fellow litigation team members
  • Liaison with external solicitors and after training you will be attending court to present cases.

experience / knowledge requirements:

  • To be able to work within a legal environment, understanding and operating legal processes
  • Good negotiating skills to achieve settlement cases
  • High level of numeracy and written skills
  • Proficient in the use of Company Office systems and ideally previous use of debt recovery database
  • Be proficient in the use of company office systems, including excel, word and access.
  • Have strong verbal and written skills.
  • Work accurately with a strong attention to detail

    person criteria:

    • Be a team player.
    • Be very organised and with a high standards on dealing with details
    • You will be keen on personal development, with fellowship of the institute of Legal Executive desireable or willing to study for Institute examinations
    • Have a firm approach with a high level of influencing skills.
    • Be a self motivated individual focused on delivering to deadlines.
